Mai is the dedicated home for hip hop and R&B for fans aged between 15 – 24 years with 439,238 active listeners in New Zealand. The brand is deeply woven into the fabric of the country with origins dating back to 1992. Our challenge? Make the brand more relevant and reflect hip-hop culture. We created an authentic expression for artists, listeners, shows and talent to strengthen their long-term proposition in Aotearoa. Bold typography and gritty art direction, mixed with a healthy dose of minimalism and modernism created a strong platform for years to come.
